There’s no such thing as a secret in Stewiacke, Nova Scotia. Not when close friends Vi, Rita, Mary Ellen, and Janine meet for coffee every day at the local diner where Janine works. But when Sean, a heartbroken doctor, moves in to take a temporary job at the local clinic, the other three ladies try to act as matchmakers for the fourth.

Liz Dennis playing Janine
This is Liz’s third collaboration with Elmira Theatre Company. Last season, Liz was stage manager for Marion Bridge and appeared onstage in Forever Love. Previously, Liz was onstage and backstage with theatre companies in Guelph, Elora and Kitchener. Thanks to the cast and crew of for being extraordinary co-conspirators in bringing this funny and heartwarming play to life.

Christina Gover playing Rita
Christina is delighted to return to the stage after a long hiatus. A longtime member of Guelph Little Theatre, she has contributed both onstage and behind the scenes over the years. Christina holds a Theatre degree from the University of Guelph and later pursued a rewarding career in teaching. Favourite past roles include Catherine in Doc, Sylvia in Stepping Out, Millie in California Suite, and Mona in Come Back to the 5 & Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean. She extends heartfelt thanks to her wonderful onstage and backstage family at ETC for their support and creativity.

Ashley Grimshaw playing Vi
Ashley is delighted to return to the stage with Elmira Theatre Company. Recent credits include Sarah in The Birds and the Bees and Bessie in The Drowning Girls (Elmira Theatre Company), Mrs. White in Clue: The Musical and Maddie in Making God Laugh (Ayr Community Theatre). Other performances include Mamma Mia and Sweeney Todd (RCMPI), and Godspell, The Boyfriend, and The Mikado (CCT). Ashley is grateful to share this touching and witty story with you and thanks her family and friends for their endless encouragement and support.

Joanne Priebe playing Mary-Ellen
Joanne has been a part of community theatre since she was a young teen. After a two year break she is very happy to be back on the boards and very excited to be performing with ETC. Some of Joanne’s past performances include, Lunenburg (Cambridge Community Players), Taking Leave (CPP) The Heiress (CCP) and Murder Most Fouled Up (ETC). Joanne looks forward to working with this amazing cast and crew.

Trevor Smith Diggins playing Sean
An accomplished actor, director and producer, Trevor has appeared in two productions with Elmira Theatre Company, playing Lionel in Bakersfield Mist and Allan in Harvest. He has also performed numerous major roles across the region, including The Goat, The Dresser, The Drowsy Chaperone, Cosi, The Wild Guys, and The Elephant Man. His directing credits include Company, Venus in Fur, Marjorie Prime, The House of Blue Leaves, Misery, Calendar Girls, and Noises Off. An alumnus of the Theatre Ontario Talent Bank, Trevor is a communications consultant and theatre adjudicator who is passionate about supporting his fellow artists and elevating performances on stage and in the boardroom.

Karen Adourian playing Martine
Karen is excited to be back behind the scenes as one of the ASM’s and she is also excited to play the role of Martine on stage in ETC’s production of Halfway There by Norm Foster. Karen finds it an absolute pleasure supporting this amazing cast and crew through the rehearsal process. Many thanks to her Family for their support and encouragement.

Tom Bolton playing Junior
Tom has enjoyed working with the Elmira Theatre Company for over the past 20 years. He is thrilled to be an ASM backstage and playing the role of Junior on stage in Norm Foster’s Halfway There. Tom is confident you will be rewarded with an outstanding theatre experience.

Robin Bennett ~ Director
Robin is thrilled to be directing Halfway There by Norm Foster with such a talented cast and crew. He recently appeared as Selsdon in Noises Off. Also, Slim in Of Mice and Men, Friar Laurence in Romeo and Juliet and Dr. Chasuble in The Importance of Being Earnest. Favourite Directing credits include Marion Bridge by Daniel MacIvor, Salt Water Moon by David French, The Beauty Queen of Leenane by Martin McDonagh, and Albertine in Five Times by Michel Tremblay.
